One new apartment building has been built on the site of a former swimming pool, and another is being built on an old bowling alley, as Springhill residents continue to seek affordable housing.
In an interview with the Burlington Free Press, city manager Jeff Davis said two apartments at the former site of the swimming pool and bowling alley will be built on properties already being developed by the city.
“The new apartment buildings on both sites are intended to be affordable housing,” he said.
“I would say that these are all apartments that will be able to be accommodated for families with children.”
Davis said the city is also planning to construct new homes for families in Springhills area.
